The truth is I could visit every place on this earth,
Test each state’s cuisine of taste,
Drink the finest liquor from the smallest bars,
Climb and leap from all the tallest heights,
Breath in the aroma of every garden,
Touch the brick of every historic place,
Win every award I ever pursued,
Hold each life event in my small hands,
Read a chapter from every holy book,
Chat with someone from every race…
And I would still wish I had more.
I would still feel I didn’t know what so much of this was for.
I would still hear that loneliness echoing in my core.
Yet, I suspect I would find I’m not alone in feeling alone.
I don’t have answers, but I continue to look.
You don’t have everything right but you hold hope.
We all are pursuing something bigger or richer;
And maybe joy, maybe peace, is found in the search.
