The Day I Cannot Turn Back

This is the day I cannot turn back from

This is the time when I see

What I really do not need.

 

This is the day in which

All these past, pathetic failures

Are overcome.

 

This is the day when

I am no longer yours

To call, hold, or take.

 

This is the day when

I no longer need you, want you,

Or will help you when you’re weak.

 

This is the day when

I admit how wrong I’ve been

For your own selfish sake.

 

This is the day when I

Prove to you, myself, and everyone

That I am everything but weak.
