This Christmas you ask me what I want…
Those can be such empty words.
But what do I want?
I want a thousand little things
That add up to everything.
I want to spend as many seconds
Of every single day
As I can with you.
I want a million tiny future memories
That will be our livelihood-
Our sustenance-
We thrive from
In our old age.
I want our insignificant arguments
Just as much as our best days,
If it means I will grow old
With you.
I want you to know
I cherish you.
I love the life we have built together.
And even if I am sometimes hard to hold
And too often inadequate
In showing how I feel,
I want you to know:
I want our moments.
Our home.
Our love.
This.
I want you.
