Seven years have gone by
Seven years of love to be lost and found
Seven years of finding a new, more real definition of faith
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of screams, tears, and laughter
Seven years of finding out what I don’t know
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of surprises
– both the worst and very best kinds–
Seven years of finding I can carry more with each load
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of hellos and goodbyes to old friends
Seven years of finding I’m never really alone at the end
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of growth I didn’t always want to feel
Seven years of finding each day brings a new hope all its own
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of mended trust I once thought I’d never touch
Seven years of finding you’re still here with me
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of trials and gifts I equally felt I didn’t deserve
Seven years of finding I can’t foreshadow the next curve
Seven years have gone by
Seven years of sifting sand, making choices, and life– moving too fast–
But seven years of memories I wouldn’t take back
Because every last choice I’d make again
To make sure I fought through these last seven years with you.
