Human Limit

When my legs prepare to crumble,

When I feel the pinches in my toes,

When my ankles confront the sprain,

When I fight to catch my piercing breath–

Despite the quickening punches in my chest–

My arms will pull me through the strain;

My lungs will push the carbon out my nose;

My grit will propel my body through the struggle.

In the end, what have I proved?

Nothing and everything

Because I haven’t yet reached my human limit.
