Secretly, I know

The best thing to do

Is to forgive and to forget.

Truthfully, I want

To lay this all down to rest.

But humanly, I feel

As though you tricked me

Into placing the wrong bet.

And Childishly, I want to fight

Because you still haven’t

Said you’re sorry yet.
