Loneliness often creeps in
And surrounds me unexpectedly.
Sadness often settles in
And weighs me down slowly.
A sense of meaninglessness sometimes reaches in
And consumes my focus relentlessly.
Untethered anxiety draws me in
And somehow ties me up mercilessly.
In these uncertain times
Let me — let us all– remember
To draw our loved ones in tenderly.
Let us try to give support
To one another consistently,
Even if it must be remotely.
For as we have an opportunity
To unite around a common fear
Remember we each live often unaware
Of the wear and tear
Of the daily internal struggles
Which have gotten so many of us here.
Let us just be there
In a way we may have not learned to be before.
