The weight of it all can bring us down.
It can rip us apart and dry our hopes.
It can barely scratch the surface of what we feel
While hiding what we need beneath the facade we create.
But the weight of it all can also teach me how to build us up.
It can open my imagination to fresh hope I didn’t know could grow.
It can tear off old paint to uncover what you always meant
When you told me this home will stand through all these years of time well spent.
