Sometimes it feels like nothing lasts
Right now, I’m in our hometown, but it doesn’t feel right
Right now, you’re in a new town, but we haven’t put up a fight
Now, I’m thinking we’re only adding to our pasts
Sometimes it feels like nothing stands
Right now, I don’t see how we can help each other live
Right now, I don’t think there’s too much you’ll let me give
Now, there’s no need to even dust off the shelves
Sometimes it feels like nothing clears
Right now, I’m preparing to pack up my old home
Right now, you’re traveling and I’m finishing this poem
Now, when you return it will most likely be too late to switch gears
Sometimes it feels like nothing stays
Right now, I’m just hoping you’ll still call me your friend
Right now, I’m not sure if we’re reaching an end
Now, I can’t tell how and where this past month weighs.
