Better

Another fight,

Another shout,

Another threat

That shouldn’t be made.

Can we forget

The wrong choices we’ve made?

“I need to try harder,”

“You need to reach higher,”

How can our voices

Be filled with

So much misplaced

Anger?

We need to do better.

So don’t you give up.

I won’t look back.

Let’s forgive and forget

And trust in the honesty

Of this human sting

As we rebuild

A better being.
