The World’s Protest

In the madness of this world where everything feels upside down,

What is wrong is too often defended as much as what is right.

In the confusion of this world, we humans forget to turn around

And we pretend another’s sin gives us license to rip apart and bite.

In the anger of this world where we all blame the other,

What should ignite positive change instead sometimes catches fire.

In the desperation of this world, we humans destroy our brother

And we demolish all foundations meant to help us reach higher.

In the injustice of this world were both the righteous and wicked survive,

What could bring whispers and shadows to light instead bury.

In the fleetingness of this world, we humans forget the blessing of being alive

And we fail to see the larger meaning in life’s ever changing story.
