I’m living between two worlds,
Worlds that we wish could coincide.
But which clash, and crash, and combust
As their inhabitants’ central beliefs
Tell them they must build walls
To keep each other’s growth at bay.
I’m living between two worlds,
Worlds which are filled with love, homes, and people
Who I believe want nothing more
Than to create a safe environment
Which can support the life they love.
But through these world’s stubborn desires
They turn the fertile ground to dust
Upon which all their foundations lie.
