If this house could talk
Would it speak of
Family homes through the years?
Would its walls
Sing of memories made
Between the beams,
the “before’s” and “”after’s”
Between its rafters?
Would its floors uphold
Years of love
Built upon a
Foundation of trust?
Or if this house could talk
Would it speak of
Families torn apart by fear?
Would its walls
Scream of scars and dents,
Failings and endings
Within time spent?
Would its floors crumble
Underneath the weight
Of the sadness and regret
That can only come with age?
If this house could talk
Could it tell me
If there is anything left
Worth being saved?
