Why can’t this be enough?
In the most peaceful moments,
The minutes passing with serenity,
Why do I still
Glance at that God-forsaken clock
To remind me why this can’t be
Enough?
What will it take to satisfy
This ravenous angst
For a more perfect future
I say I’d die for.
But here in this moment,
Shouldn’t I live for more?
When will my insatiable ambitions
Tell me nothing else needs won?
When will my desires
Be finally filled
With the peace of knowing
This is enough?
