I’m always standing around here
Trying to understand your “what ifs”
While knowing my own aren’t that clear
Hoping that you and I will see as time sifts
—————————————————————–
But though the grains are looking small
They’re still so completely mixed
That maybe there will be a soft fall
When I stop trying alone to get this fixed
—————————————————————–
You can’t take your time this time
I won’t write that same old rhyme
If you do take your time this time
I’ll be crossing back over that line
Oh you can’t take your time this time
Cause I won’t wait for another false sign
—————————————————————–
I won’t meet another who’s the same
And I don’t want at all for you to change
I like you from your eyes to your name
But I won’t always be in your range
—————————————————————–
I want to know that you really care
I can’t just hope that you really do
And if you still aren’t really there
I can’t wait like I want on you
—————————————————————–
You can’t take your time this time
I won’t write that same old rhyme
If you do take your time this time
I’ll be crossing back over that line
Oh you can’t take your time this time
Cause I won’t wait for another false sign
—————————————————————–
And If I don’t know right now
What makes me think I ever will?
So do what you really want to now
But know I won’t be standing still
—————————————————————–
And I don’t want this to be the end
But I really need a real friend
If real effort is what you won’t send
Then I guess this is the end
