Is envisioning a better future enough?
Are we still reaching toward the light
That we believe shines through these shadows
Cast by the towering monuments
We’ve let grow far too large for too long?
Or have our eyes so adjusted to the darkness
By our chosen disbelief in facts
That shadows will mute the very light we seek to find?
Now do we stand exposed in the open
So we can sense that forgotten light,
Even if it means the hidden is laid bare?
Or do we cower underneath these idols
Do we hide within their shadows?
Do we choose to give up the day for the night?
