Seven

Seven days after the break,

Are there any bridges I can build

That will help me reach the other side

Of this chasm between what was

And what must now be?

Seven days after the storm,

As I feel my heart ache

And I find each of my smiles is

Tinted on the outskirts with pain,

How do I find peace within the lingering rain?

Seven days after the crash,

How do I hold onto hope

When I am swept up in how fast

Love can be lost?

How do I move forward

While holding onto the memory of you?

How do I reach for the future

When a part of me will always be reaching back for you,

Longing for the past?
