Times of transition are confusing.
They tell you to aim for something
That feels all too far out of reach.
They ask you to believe in something
That is too often different from what you had once preached.
They require you to lose something,
To leave past hopes and dreams
Lying on a deserted beach.
They beg you to keep moving forward-
To know that something
New and worthwhile is just across the water,
To trust in what you don’t always have
The words to say or power to teach.
