Together

We’ve walked a long road together.

I hope that road will lead us to even more.

At times, that road has has been nothing more

Than a dirt path we paved as

We pushed forward through the mud.

But even on the worst nights

When there were screams and shouts

And storms rumbled in to soak us to the bone,

We both kept walking.

We each took another step,

Cut through the bramble,

And leaned in to keep each other warm.

We still don’t know where this path will take us,

What valleys, peaks, or impasses

We will face up ahead.

But we’ve walked a long road together.

I hope that road will lead us to forever.
